The most important skill that any marketer can have is listening.

In many marketing strategies, the importance of listening to your audience is rarely emphasized.

This very interesting keynote provides much insight into what many of our markets are telling us, and how technology is affecting the life and lives of those we market too.

Good marketers will listen and learn.

It is very interesting how marketing strategies don’t require, no, DEMAND a larger focus on what the audience has to say.

This is the foremost strategy a marketer should follow. It also gives an idea to the marketer if he is wrong anywhere. The better a marketer knows its customer , the best he will be able to provide…! Great strategy! Thanks.

Excellent point that a marketer has to listen. Only if we listen we’ll get to know what is their point and what they think in their mind. Marketing would not give a proper result without listening. I totally agree with you.. -Jeff

I like the point of how too many options and too much choice leaves a person paralyzed to making a satisfying decision for themselves and is something that any marketer can incorporate to improve the decisiveness of any consumer/customer.

Right on Dineen. As a good marketer, we owe it to our clients to make our offerings clearly defined and easily distinguishable both from additional offers but also from the competition.

This is very useful information and helpful to me as I try to figure out my own marketing strategy. In this rough economy singling oneself out is critical.

\\"The more choice that they have, the more freedom they have.\\" Thanks for posting this video because that summation of the official dogma hits it on the head. Marketers who talk non-stop don\\\’t give a client the chance to stop, think and feel like they have a choice. No choice, no freedom and clients walk.

Part of our job is to listen to our clients; I completely agree. We should be there to not only offer great strategy, but to offer succinct strategy that answers any lingering questions that may be left with. It’s a rough time for everyone and this attention could set you apart from a competing offer.

I am in total agreement with you. Listening is a lot more important than talking, not just in marketing, but in every business. However, most marketeers feel otherwise.

I strongly agree with this point that the marketer must have listening skill. He must try to know the views of the public, so that they bring the company to a good position.
