TopThis post is super meta! I think the future of education is going to be more like this: videos, tutorials, interactive things online, pulling information from various sources, etc. I think it will make learning much more dynamic and flexible, providing many more opportunities for people who don’t do well in traditional school environments.

TopI homeschool my three children because we see the public school system as a way to organize society into obedience. This video is spot on. As far as I am concerned every person should see this, with the intention that it just opens their mind to the possibility of challenging the status quo. When we accept society without questions, we put on the blinders and earplugs, and before long not only are we on the wrong path, but even worse we don’t even realize that we are there.

TopThat’s great Jennefer – the most interesting idea to me is that whether a person chooses to accept or reject this information, the fact remains that the system of education is shifting so rapidly that the future of education will have no choice but to make significant, systemic changes in how they organize, measure, and impart intelligence to the next generation.

TopI agree. Until the value of the result of education is analyzed and understood to be relative to each individual and their respective circumstances we are doomed to perpetuate the archaic methods currently used. The real message here is one of hope because awareness is the first step towards solution. Bravo again for posting such an excellent video. The more people that stop to think about the paradigm of education from this perspective the faster the ripple of change will move.

TopThe importance of education has been put to the side due to all the other concerns with our nation right now.
As a teacher, you have to teach as if the future depends on it because it does.
Teacher’s need higher salaries, background checks dating back to when they were born and go through some type of testing each year to make sure that they are up to date on technology.
More computers, smaller classrooms, and one on one teaching would improve the education system all together.

TopThis video answers an important question that I have and that question is how do I explain to my kids that education is important to their livelihood. The answer to the question is we don’t know what is going to happen in the future and that is why we need to educate ourselves so that we can prepare for the future. I believe that a good education is the one that allow students to think on their own. I appreciate art, music, dance, drama and every elective courses in the united states schools because their purpose is to teach students that it is ok to be expressive, to have independent opinions and to have appreciation for their talents and the talents of others.

TopEducation does not have to be formal, organized, or mechanical. It should drift based on one’s interests and guided by a coach(teacher)
