Microsoft Bing has a sense of humor.
Watch this, and tell me this type of situation hasn’t happened to you during a search:
But the question is – can they really challenge Google?
You can compare the two search engines here {link}.

hahah yeah seriously! That’s a great commercial though for sure and I wonder if they can compete with google. I would doubt it, but I have seen a lot of advertising for bing as of lately. Guess only time will tell!

Never have experienced a terrific terrible situation like this.Humour is everywhere thats the reason when we search the search engines should also have humour.”Bing” proved it !!!!!!!!
July 21st, 2009 at 11:13 pm
I’m doubting that Microsoft can really catch up to Google at this point. Google has such a huge head start over them that the simple brand name power should propel them. I love the link to compare the two! Thanks!

I personally like Google’s search just fine, and i think Bing’s way of promoting their new site is a little off par.
Sure if you type in some random words in a search engine, you’re going to get random results. But if you type specifically what you’re looking for… at least for me personally, I’ve always gotten good results from Google, and been able to find what I was looking for.

That was one of the cool and funny ads!!!!!….I laugh my head out when I encounter such situations personally…..Anyways..I like Google the best…so far…lets see if “bing” can impress me!!!
July 23rd, 2009 at 9:33 am
That was funny. I like bing and I’m not going to use google anymore!!!
July 23rd, 2009 at 9:06 pm
It reminds me of the ol’ MMO debate. It probably won’t replace Google, but then again maybe it doesn’t have to. I can see there being a place for both. Advertising can, however, do amazing things!
July 25th, 2009 at 3:40 pm
I just wanted to say that I really don’t like microsoft. I like google so I do not understand all the hype…
July 25th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
I personally believe Google does not requires any introduction or praise. Google has such a huge head start over them that the simple brand name power. By the way the add is very funny and attracting.
July 27th, 2009 at 5:54 am
@It is a funny ad – totally agree.
@Emily – I’m not sure there is a bunch of hype. In fact, many folks share your opinion that Google is king [and should stay that way], and nobody can touch them.
July 27th, 2009 at 8:03 am
google is best search engine. i like google website. by the way the add is so crazy
July 28th, 2009 at 9:56 am
bing is good seach engine with new outlook environment and much faster and relevant to other competitors..
microsoft bing is good keep it up!!!!!
bingo bing is here….
July 28th, 2009 at 9:00 pm
I think Google has some competition now that Microsoft and Yahoo are going to join forces. It’s going to be interesting.
July 28th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
I liked the link which comparch engines. And yes Google is way ahead in case of search engines. Not sure whether Bing can be a contender.
July 29th, 2009 at 4:59 am
google is way ahead of the game, i don’t think bing has any chance against them. funny video though
July 29th, 2009 at 5:59 am
well they are getting badly beaten by google maybe it just means they are good loosers. Interesting its posted on a google video site
July 29th, 2009 at 3:18 pm
I think bing is doing a great thing by challenging Google and encouraging them to improve their search engine. Competition is a good thing because it makes things better for the user- me.
July 30th, 2009 at 5:28 am
well…
this is really funny video though… i don think they could beatthe gogle.. i think google has some competitions…
July 30th, 2009 at 6:02 am
@nithya – that’s an opinion shared by many. But…have you been drinking?
@Cangel – so true! We are often the beneficiaries of heated corporate competition.
@pmacaodha – ironic, eh? Bing is getting the word out via YouTube.

A great blog in my point of view. such a situations come rarely and ones life. I literally make fun of myself when i saw myself heading into such a situation. But whatever it takes, i love google and can confidently count upon google. Thumbs up to google.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:08 am
it is really nice blog.the designing work is excellent.i like the theme too much.the content involved is really quality content.i like the way of presentation.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
It is very difficult at this point of time to judge which search is better, but one thing is clear Microsoft has always been manage to hold its position in the market. Microsoft joining hands with yahoo can do anything!
We people do have very short memory….How can we forget past when powerful ‘Netscape’ browser was ‘Deleted’ from internet world by Microsoft’s Newly develop ‘Internet explorer.’

Personally, I kind of hate those commercials. At first, I didn’t even pay attention to them because they were so annoying so I didn’t even know what they were for. But, a little healthy competition is a good thing, and maybe google, and everybody doing searches on the web, will learn something thanks to the ‘new kid on the block’.
July 31st, 2009 at 4:36 pm
I’ve enjoyed the Bing commercials – I find them cute, but not annoying. However, ever since Bing became linked to my MSN home page, I have to wait a second or two extra to type the address of wherever I might want to go – why? Because my cursor is automatically redirected to the Bing search box! It’s very annoying – I type the address, hit enter, and then I’m looking at the Bing search results page instead of the site I wanted. Results-wise, I still prefer Google – I can’t see enough of a difference or improvement in the Bing results.
July 31st, 2009 at 11:12 pm
I love Bing commercials, they’re hilarious!! but, i went to bing, and its not as good as google. It has all the same things google has, but in a different order.
August 1st, 2009 at 2:54 pm
The problem is that Google is so entrenched in the Internet-search culture that it’s going to take more than some funny commercials to get people to switch.
August 3rd, 2009 at 9:49 am
@will – yup, Microsoft has a laaawwwnnngggg way to go.
@connie – thanks for your opinion. What did you find annoying about them?
I’m not a huge fan of bing – I’m just a fan of competition. But I’m curious what the commercials did to inspire your reaction.
August 4th, 2009 at 4:42 am
The Microsoft is too late. Like Microsoft took all over the operating system market, Google have bested the search engines.
August 4th, 2009 at 4:06 pm
I thought it was a clever commercial. Far more clever than anything they have come up with in the past. However, it will take more than a funny commercial to sway people from a trusted search engine like google.
August 7th, 2009 at 7:41 am
I have tried this. Whether or not it is funny, one thing is sure…It is NOT a rival to Google or Yahoo, in any respect!
August 7th, 2009 at 9:02 am
Bing, a good competitor of Google in different angle. Here Bing proves that it has a good humour in it.
August 7th, 2009 at 11:15 am
A neat and needed solution but can it really be better than what’s out there. Heck, I find most people give incorrect responses when you ask them questions. Can a computer program do better since it’s written by humans. Maybe we need to have a computer write the program so it will focus on what you are asking and not themselves.
August 8th, 2009 at 9:43 am
Lol, cute ad, one of the funnier ones. Great blog also. Google has the best search engine though lol! They have cornered the market on that one!!!
August 8th, 2009 at 9:51 pm
This commercial is really good. However, I personally feel bing cannot beat Google. Google is getting better day by day. Also, it gives more relevant results than bing.
August 9th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
One of the most powerful advantages of Bing is the video search and the quick previews that are shown. Though this has unleashed ‘thumbnail porn’ upon the world’, it is a very versatile feature. If Bing can extend their search parameters to more areas like image matching, then they will overtake Google in no time.
August 12th, 2009 at 4:43 am
It is not making any sence. They cannot have any qualification to compete with google
August 12th, 2009 at 2:21 pm
I’m glad that Microsoft is trying to compete, and it’s a good effort, but I don’t see anything very groundbreaking about this new search engine. I do think that they are on the right track, though.
August 12th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
Nothing conveyed worthy. Just a waste of time and power.
August 12th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
I love the commercials, but don’t understand Bing, when I compare the two I’m not feeling like they are much different, but that may be because I’m not desparately looking for something. That is when Google gets on my nerves.
August 12th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
Bing is a very interesting idea. It would help people out that are under a time restraint and need to find relevant information quickly. But to say that they are better then other search engines, like Yahoo and Google is a bit going over what is logical. Google and Yahoo and any other major search engine has been around for longer and is more known, even with the commercials of Bing. And at times it also is helpful because it\’s a crawler search and it makes sure to find the websites that are most visited that consist of the words that you\’re searching. Though there are times that you do get results that have nothing to do with what you were looking for in the first place.
August 12th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
I really did not get this commercial the first time. I thought it was some kind of a goofy product. My husband and I just looked at each other and said what was that. Anyway, Google is too big for a competition.
August 13th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
I dont think bing can actually compete with google. theyre trying so hard to advertise and try to boost their users though. i think people are going to stick with their normal search engines though. I know i personally only think to use google when searching.
